Dr Rudolf Linker completed his dentistry degree in 1974 at the University of Adelaide. In 1984 he graduated from the University of Melbourne with Masters in Dental Science in the specialty of Orthodontics.
He is a registered member of the Australian Society of Orthodontists and the Australian Dental Association. He also belongs to the American Society of Orthodontics, the World Federation of Orthodontics as well as the European Orthodontic Society.
When at the University of Adelaide studying Dental Science, he became a Naval Undergraduate Cadet and upon graduation joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Dental Lieutenant and worked for 2 years at the Fleet Air Arm/ HMAS Albatross, based at Nowra.
He then moved to HMAS Cerberus on the Mornington Peninsula for a further 3 years. Having left the service of RAN, he opened his own General Practice at Hastings.
In the early years of practice he also taught Growth and Development for the final year dental graduates at Melbourne University, and also participated in continuing education for dental and oral health practitioners.
He finds it extremely rewarding to see the growth in self-esteem in his patients as the orthodontic smile develops. It gives him great satisfation to see the happy smiles following successful treatment.
Having had large practices in Mornington, Dandenong, Berwick, Pakenham and Traralgon, Dr Linker says he has missed the interaction and the challenge of utilising the latest technology of Suresmile to continue to do the best for his patients.
Oral Health Therapist
Kim completed her Diploma of Oral Health Therapy at the University of Melbourne in 2000 achieving the Colgate and Oral B highest aggregate awards.
She has worked in Community dental health and general dentistry but found that Orthodontics was her passion and moved into this specialist field of dentistry early on, joining Dr Rudolf Linker’s practice in 2002. Kim found she loved making such a big impact on changing people’s lives by creating beautiful smiles and giving quality, gentle patient care.
After also working in several city based Orthodontic practices for the past 10 years, Kim, along with her husband and daughter relocated onto a farm in West Gippsland. Now after 6 years of being in such a lovely country area she was excited to rejoin Dr Linker’s new practice, HiTech Ortho located in Warragul.
Outside of work Kim is an avid horse trainer, showjumper and loves to help children and adults in Equine Therapy. She also loves family and farm life, time out with friends and travelling.
Orthodontic Assistant/ Treatment Coordinator
Rebecca started Dental Assisting in 2003, and went onto complete Certificate 3.
Over her 12 years of oral health experience, she has taken on many different roles from being a general dentistry nurse, qualified Implant nurse, General Anaesthetic nurse and Orthodontic assistant.
Rebecca very much enjoys the varied roles within the oral health industry and loves working with children, where she gains great enjoyment out of seeing them grow and develop beautiful smiles.
In her spare time on the weekends, Rebecca enjoys being around her horses, whether it be competing in showjumping or just enjoying the atmosphere and excitement of a horse event. Her other zest for life is travelling and her goal is to see as many different sites around the world.
Ruth is very much a local girl, having grown up, attended school and worked for many years in the Warragul area. Ruth gained her Dental Assisting Qualifications at the Royal Melbourne Dental Hospital and has successfully undertaken numerous professional development courses.
Ruth has many years of Paediatric Dental Assisting experience and has worked both in private and public dental clinics with 20 years at the School Dental Service.
Ruth is married with four beautiful children and she enjoys gardening, travelling, reading and relaxing with friends.
Ruth is excited to be working a HiTech Ortho as the Office Manager/Receptionist.
Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Timothy Wong completed his medical degree in 2001 before embarking on his surgical career in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, completing his Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Part 1 in 2004 and dental degree in 2007. He graduated with first-class honours in both his medical and dental degrees, accumulating 11 academic prizes including the Robert Power Prize in Surgery (2001), Sir John Monash Scholarship (2001) and Bertha Bennett most outstanding dental student (2006).
Timothy completed his specialty Oral and Maxillofacial Training in Melbourne (2008-2011), and gained his Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2011. He then completed a further Clinical Fellowship in Maxillofacial Head & Neck Surgery at University College London Hospital 2012-2013. After returning to Melbourne at the end of 2013, he was appointed as an Oral & Maxillofacial Consultant at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Austin and Repatriation Hospital and Royal Dental Hospital Melbourne in addition to commencing practice at OMFS.
His subspecialty interests include corrective jaw surgery, implantology, maxillofacial trauma and the management of head and neck tumours. He has presented at both national and international maxillofacial conferences in the fields of orthognathic surgery and head and neck oncology and is active in teaching maxillofacial registrars, medical and dental students at the University of Melbourne.
