What is Invisalign?

What is the treatment process for Invisalign?

The Invisalign treatment process begins with an initial appointment at HiTech Ortho where we will examine your mouth and take images using Invisalign’s state-of-the-art 3D scanning software.

These 3D scans are used to develop your comprehensive and personalised treatment plan that outlines every single movement your teeth will make using Invisalign aligners.

Your scans will be sent to the Invisalign laboratory, where your clear aligners will be manufactured.

Once your aligners are made and sent back to our team at HiTech Ortho, we will call you back in for your next appointment.

During this appointment, you will receive three pairs of Invisalign aligners. Our orthodontic team will ensure your first aligner tray fits correctly.

Before leaving our clinic, we will walk you through cleaning your aligners, how long to wear them, and all other important aspects of clear aligner treatment.

How long are Invisalign worn for?

Each individual aligner tray must be worn for two weeks, before being swapped over to the next sequential tray.

You must wear your Invisalign aligners for about 12 months on average, for between 20 to 22 hours per day. If you do this, you will be able to get as close to the perfect smile as possible. 

Failing to wear your aligners for the recommended hours per day will prolong your treatment and cause issues regarding the two-week aligner changeover sequence.

How often are check-up appointments?

You will have check-up appointments every six weeks.

During these six weekly appointments, you will receive your next three aligner trays and our orthodontic team will make sure that your treatment is on schedule and going as per the 3D scans predicted.

What are the benefits of Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners are made from clear plastic, making them virtually invisible to other people. This means you do not have to worry about the appearance of metal braces.

Removable
